Paul Otellini of Intel quoted today as saying:

"capital spending is still likely to still reach $7.5 billion for the year, as the company builds manufacturing facilities for new chip technologies. Even a recession would probabaly not slow that spending, Otellini said."

Rest of the article says Intel's Q1 is going as crummy as they predicted, but at least not any worse. Noticed some crummy spelling and editing in the article as well.
