I don't think SCM is as important as it seems at this juncture - so no, in real terms I don't think arba will match I2's demand planning expertise, but I see SCM as just one of many areas in the demand/supply chain all of which are being revamped by misc. b2b companies.

Ariba knows the whole chain is available to sell into, which is why they bought agile... why compete with I2 in their core competancy?

Thank you. This is not my area of expertise. I saw you post that on the Amazon thread regarding the SAN space<G>

If I had to guess at who will take the internet enabled enterprise I would say the contenders right now are i2 and arba and there is definitely room for both companies so just buy the cheaper one.


I suppose I will stick with the Ariba I own and see how it plays out.
