It would also appear from the article that most of that 811 is due to a small handful of internet stocks, which shouldn't even be on the Nasdaq100 to begin with -- Excite@Home , Amazon.com, Yahoo, CNET -- since they were added during a brief period of irrational exuberance. Maybe they should be removed now to bring the index p/e in line with the median.
