I think the election definitely hurt the finite Christmas selling season. Heck, most were glued to the set with the excitement of it all. I recall, that the election ended about the 12th of December. 12 days was a little short in peoples minds to mail order a computer.
Yea; I complained, because I wanted a good Christmas season...and the election was ill timed in that respect.
