'Course some today's announcements dovetail and enhance the significance of DAFS/VI. Yep. I think VI is ain't ready yet. I should have known better than to even think it might be announced this soon. Hitz has always said "first half of 2001". The switched fabric fc is a biggee, though. This is truly the marriage of NAS and SAN. There is opportunity for more software to be developed to support the management of that switched fabric. EMC has the upperhand here, with a mature platform for support of switched FC. I am anxious to see the details of NTAP's announcement to see how mature their support is.
