I hate it when friends & family get scammed Here you are their friend or family only wanting the best for them and they still won't listen. I can honestly say that every time I've said a stock or real estate deal was bad, it was bad. I'd be the first one out while everyone called me an idiot. Then they'd lose their shirts while I'm counting my profits. Of course it's pretty easy to spot bad stocks and RE. Wish I were as good at picking good stocks with lots of quick honest upside. People used to hit my grandmother up with phone scams all the time as she had money and was 90 years old. She'd always turn them over to me. Sometimes she'd play with them a little first. She made millions from scratch so she knew business. Not one of those phone deals were ever legit. Anyone who calls you on the phone to let you in on their special deal is a scammer. I remember telling her old lady friends to get out of lincoln savings and property mortgage co. They were going down as they were involved in bad things. I was in that biz at the time and everyone knew. Lincoln also did not meet their risk, tangible or core ratings at the time. Some of these old ladies still played this bank and company and lost it ALL. I went to the hearings to speak on their behalf. Didn't get any money for them. Did make the scammers feel like shit. It was kinda fun watching these little old ladies using obscenities at the podium screaming at these scammers. Wish I'd brought my video camera.
