Hi Tejek, Scumbria, and Windsock,
Guess what?

Nancy Reagan left the White House with more than $1 million dollars worth of dresses, jewelry, shoes, and accessories!

Amy J,

Thanks for the info but the NY Times has to be wrong. Nancy and Ronnie would never have done something like that.....only the Clintons could be so evil.

And don't forget the Reagans got only a low interest loan from party patrons and not the house itself in Beverly Hills. The Los Angeles Times got it wrong....just like the other Times.

Amy,

Republican dollars are much smaller than Dem dollars. If a Republican steals or wastes or borrows anything up to $5 trillion, that is inconsequential in the overall scheme of the universe.

To imply that Republicans are anything less than forthright, honest and truthful is uncivil.

On the otherhand, Democrats are all liars, cheats and sneaks because the Republicans tell us that is the case. They wouldn't be anything less than civil, would they?

Presidents have left the White House bearing everything from precious jewels to, in the case of the elder George Bush, at least 39 fishing rods.
