"Peter- Great system!!"

Thanks a lot, Harvey. It's pure fun with such a PC...

But it seems that we are not alone. Interested in a little update of the daily top 10 bestseller lists of K&M Elektronik? Sounds good:

General top 10 bestseller list of February 13:

1 IBM DTLA 307045 46.1GB 8.5ms 7200u/min U/DMA100
2 AMD ATHLON K7 1000 Thunderbird
3 ELITEGROUP K7VZA-100 Socket-A
4 AMD DURON
5 STREAMLINE Midi ATX Tower 250W PC608B
6 AMD ATHLON K7 800 Thunderbird
7 ASUS A7V133 VIA-KT133A
8 IBM DTLA 307030 30.7GB 8.5ms 7200u/min U/DMA100
9 AMD ATHLON K7 1200 Thunderbird
10 STREAMLINE Middle-Power ATX Tower 400W PC808B4

Not bad, four out of ten are AMD CPUs, including the Athlon 1200!

Processor top 10 bestseller list:

1 AMD ATHLON K7 1000 Thunderbird
2 AMD DURON 800
3 AMD ATHLON K7 800 Thunderbird
4 AMD ATHLON K7 1200 Thunderbird
5 AMD DURON 700
6 AMD ATHLON K7 900 Thunderbird
7 AMD K6-2 550
8 INTEL PENTIUM III 1GHz EB FCPGA
9 INTEL PENTIUM III 866EB FCPGA
10 AMD K6-2 500

BTW: Yesterday, in the computer shop in Munich were I bought my lovely new Athlon, I asked whether they sell a lot of AMD CPUs. The owner of the shop almost laughed and answered that they sell almost exclusively Athlons. Intel chips are too expensive and too slow. So why should anyone buy them?

Hmm, yes, WHY??

Kind regards,
Peter
