Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing
(HKEx) said on Tuesday it will add a new
feature to its automated securities trading
system on Friday enabling investors to
place orders through the Internet and
mobile phones.

HKEx, the holding company of Hong
Kong's stock and futures exchanges, said
in a statement that more than 100
brokerages had expressed interest in
connecting their trading systems to the
Order Routing System (ORS).

It said 21 would connect to the system on
Friday and the remainder would connect
to the system from late March.

After an order is placed electronically to
ORS, the system automatically sends the
order to a brokerage for approval and
submission to the market for matching and
execution, it said.

HKEx said the introduction of ORS would
further facilitate the development of online
trading in Hong Kong.
