One probable reason, as I posted earlier, is the reduction in earnings estimates for '01. Both Value Line and the screen for earnings on Yahoo estimate that earnings will decline in '01 compared to '00. The PE is close to 20, not 6, based on operating earnings, as I understand it, as well.

Aus, regarding your statement that Olympus will probably need to think about this cross licensing arrangement with Kodak, recall that Kodak has at least one really innovative component--a flat panel display where the pixels or equivalent are coated on plastic, and the whole thing draws less current and is much brighter than the existing LCD displays currently in use. Olympus is really being smart if they get their hands on that innovation.

The other thing is that the higher resolution Olympus cameras can handle both SmartMedia and CF, so SNDK is likely to benefit from whatever agreement is made with Kodak. Olympus also is the only digital camera I know of that currently has models with true SLR (single lens reflex) capability--a feature I certainly miss on my Nikon 950.
