John,
I am betting on an initial down move in extended markets and back up tomorrow during the day. So yes it is priced in and there are less weak hands here than was the case in cisco. Does anyone think there may be something positive in the earnings or guidance? Alex Brown was talking 60 cents with consensus now at 63 so maybe 63 would be viewed positively. As far as guidance goes, maybe it gets better for 2nd half, something cisco didnt really do. Cisco set the bar low so they could beat the street again soon. Being cyclical Amat mgt. may have a different agenda and may be more upbeat. Mike

John, >Is the bad news we get later today priced in or not?<

One never knows. For example: I hold SLB and they were widely expected to buy Sema. So I thought it was priced in. They made it final Monday and the stock has dropped ever since.

If we hold AMAT here, we may get some paper losses but have very good expectations for the next year or two. I don't know of any non-semi equipment stock where you can say the same.
