There's no doubt that despite the popularity of this thread, it is still an island of "sobriety" on SI. I'm not sure how any of the market action can be viewed as bullish unless you stretch the limits of TA. Since March, not one dip has been a profitable buying opportunity long-term except the one from early January which is now barely above water.

Geez, do you ever talk to your friends and family about this stuff? They look at you like you're from Mars.

Allan:

I've been scaling in rather aggressively this fine and lovely "Fed-day". One has to love the words of the venerated one. (g)

Best, Earlie

well, we're also a bit biased...but we may be excused, for we have recognized the big bubble for what it is.

i think the market may have sprung a technical trap...there's just enough t/a evidence supporting the bullish case as to make shorting psychologically very difficult - the NAZ TRIN e.g. is extremely oversold...i know of a few big picture bears that have flipped to short term long because of it.

recall my old contention that capitulation will go hand in hand with technical failures, i.e. certain oscillators that have worked at identifying bottoms in the past will fail...

have no idea if NOW is the time, but the set-up is almost picture-perfect ideal....

It Truly Is Amazing

It is now acknowledged that the US is experiencing an economic slowdown the nature of which was was not anticipated by the experts, and which no expert is willing to guarantee will not be longer or more sever than expected.

At the same time stocks are selling at higher ratios to their earning than has ever been the case.

But somehow it just does not seem to occur to people that this might not be the best time to own stocks, much the less buy more.
