Yepper.....Short-term volatility: that will do it, and that's how I got suckered into this shit in the first place.

First of all, there's no doubt in what's left of my mind that MCDTA/MCDT will do great over the long haul. After all, data storage is in such high demand, that the profit potential is huge for the providers. In addition, the storage sector will not see a slowdown in growth like other sectors will witness in this slowing economy. Why? Because companies that rely on data storage will pay up for it no matter what....no matter what. I'll use my company as an example: We will basically be paying out of the wazoo for this type of technology because it helps our process remain efficient, which in turn generates more profits for the company. The costs associated with the technology are small in comparison to relative efficiencies it helps to create/maintain. And the scale of usage of SAN where I work is small compared to the big dogs. But the methodology/rationale for using the technology is the same.

The problem is that the sector was too inflated and some of the air obviously needed to be let out first. We didn't wait for enough air to be released. <g>
