You're not kidding, CatLady. Along with "mute" points is the attempted usage of the quaint expression, "Methinks" as "Me thinks." Which, I might add, is quite hilarious given that the suspected intent of using such a phrase is to suggest a well-read poster. Instead, the result - "Me thinks interest rates...(etc.)" - is grammar akin to that which an individual named/called "Mongo" or "Thump" would use. LPS5

Throughout the past 18 yrs., I have repeatedly watched an Asst. U.S. Attorney proudly state, "The United States stands moot, Your Honor." {Yes, I've tried to tell him. Having not succeeded, I stand mute on his "moot."} . Great idea for a thread.
