Over my career in the brokerage business, I saw hundreds of clients destroy themselves in all market conditions - all due to in inability to admit defeat.

In my opinion, "taking a stand" is not the point of trading. Making money is the only reason to be in the market and a growing account is the only proof that we are "right" - right, that is, in our attitude.

The individual trades, the market calls, are simply irrelevant since we have to make thousands of them over a lifetime. It is how we do it that matters, how we handle the decision making process. It is the long term outcome of our behaviour in reaction to price that is relevant.

Oh well...there has to be somebody on the other side of the trades, right?
