You're assuming that Intel is going to start the same number of wafers at 300mm that it started at 200mm... which is incorrect. 300mm tools are bigger, and take up more space than 200mm tools (and the wafers are friggin' huge!). Part of the cost savings in 300mm fabrication is you don't start as many wafers. You also don't need as many techs to run the equipment. This will let Intel grow with the market while keeping headcount flat to lower.

I agree, in the scenario that you spin, it would be a negative... but that scenario isn't based in reality...
