Most excellent post. dollar budget in hand, do you prefer to deal with the overlapping and conflicting software from ten different vendors -- Siebel, Portal, Remedy, SAP, PeopleSoft, I2, CommerceOne ... or just work with one single vendor for (potentially) seamless workflow? The answer to that question is which vender knows 2 things. The first is usability. This favors Oracle for the same simple reason that ms wins on the desktop. Uniformity of commands (and the logic to the location of those commands). And two, What is necessary and desireable to have in the software, to accomplish the purpose for which the software is intended, sort of a quasi-imbeded artificial intelligence. I don't know enough about each of the programs you mention to know who's is best, but again, Oracle has a good shot. Oh, uh... don't tell Joel Klien. :))
