Sounds good to me, as I said, I am long both ORCL and CSCO. Right now, I see CSCO having better 5-year revenue growth, but I see ORCL with better margins.

That's the way it should be, hardware vs. software, anyway.

I was just trying to explain the reason the slowdown in IT spending evidenced by CSCO was carrying over to ORCL.

They are very different companies, but their customer bases have significant overlap. It's a very macro way to look at the world.

So, when does ORCL report? A month from now?

Looks like the correlation between what CSCO reported and what ORCL saw did turn out to be pretty strong.

Strong enough to get us an earnings warning.

I am surprised at the sharp decline - I would have thought most people were pricing in a miss by now.
