What store?

Ooops...sorry about that, thought we were talking about Best Buys. It was a Best Buy.

John and thread,

Well, I had a dental appointment this afternoon and I couldn't
help but drive by BestBuy on the way home. I know. This sounds like
an extraordinarily compulsive thing to do, but I did it. I brought
along a CF card (yes, it was a SanDisk card) and tried out the Nikon 880.
I took a picture of the flash card section to show you that this store
has not restocked from the weekend. Okay, there is now a single
8MB SanDisk SmartMedia card in the upper left hand corner of the
photo. The rest of SanDisk is sold out. About half of the PNY stock
from the weekend is now gone, so those are essentially lost sales for
SanDisk. And I hate to see sales going to off-brand items from companies
like PNY or Memorex. I guess this shows you that BestBuy is loyal
to noone and a sale is a sale. Perhaps that is good business.

Of note, the store is also sold out of Image Mate and the PCMCIA adapters.

I have noticed that no new Lexar Media or Simple Technology cards
have been in BestBuy stores for a few months now. It is possible
they were stocked and sold out during an interim period when I
had not visited their stores, but I think that is unlikely.
Still their decision to stock Memorex and PNY cards confuses me.

It is kind of like settling for Bubble Up or
RC Cola when you could have a 7-Up or a Pepsi.

Sorry the photo is out of focus. It wasn't my camera and I didn't bother
to double check the image quality before I left the store.

Oh yeah, a guy bought a Sony P1 while I was goofing off there.
