Gus,

From INRG's quarterly report:

<<* Fibre channel and FICON support for the 256 port, CD/9000 ESCON Storage Director was announced. INRANGE is the only company to provide all three enterprise storage networking protocols in a single director.>>

INRG also has 10-15% of the FC director market. From 0% to 15% in five months is incredible IMO.

It is no doubt McData has the most installed ESCON customer base. It may not, however, lend itself to their FC director sales going forward. EMC may help them out. Cost, performance and flexibility will determine who the winner is for director class switch business. Just couple years ago, McData still stacked two Brocade switches together to make ends meet. Are you telling me that they now possess top notch FC technology and built the best FC director switch in the market place? I find that hard to believe. IMO INRG has a much better upside potential than McData. The FC director field is still wide open. Customers are just beginning to install test sites. It is McData which has a lot to worry.
