I agree with you, but I would also ask why some people get so defensive when someone disagrees with them. For example, it appears as if Bob is/was well respected at SI and many here have expressed that view. Now there are others that are less enamored with Bob for their own set of reasons or perhaps upset with SI performance, INSP management, recession woes, who the heck knows the reason. I just do not understand why some here feel its necessary to attack those with a dissenting view and a personal attack on the poster does not appear IMHO to be the best way to debate or discuss the issue. Again, I can understand that this is an emotional issue here, but think we need to be a bit more tolerant of those with views other than our own. Is that not the essence of a "community"?
