E! Do you sometimes succumb to a sneaking suspicion that Greenspan, for all his good press, somehow just doesn't really get it?.... IMHO, there is no doubt at all that the Fed caused this bear market....or at least made the situation far worse than it need have been....and now Alan speaks all sweeness and light as if this whole deal is just some minor, temporary glitch.... He problably took hundreds of billions out of this economy -- destroyed it, actually--- and his testimony appears to treat it as requiring simply a small rearrangement of the pieces in the puzzle....even seriously downplayed the value of a tax cut (which contradicts his long held beliefs, and actions, under previous administrations).... wants to do it all with monetary policy now..... I'm afraid he has begun believing his own hype.... tso
