No one doubts the techs are going to be offering bargains, but during the shopping spree, we can get burnt. TXCC finally moved up today and I thought I might be able to hold this by now, but no. ELNT triggered long and today I didn't even get in for the first time after a trigger. I figured already it would pull back quickly and it did. Its a Pavlovian reflex now. I seldom just hold a tech stock, I am always looking for that spike high, that reversal and almost automatically I just sell. I don't do that with others.. I have held other companies through 1 day reversals and even more, but I can't do that with tech. I am conditioned now that when I hold it, I lose profit. Ironically, I can hold shorts (puts) through some upside much more easily than hold longs through downside. When once I won't be stopped out on a trailing stop, or see a postion retreat within 1/2 hour, I might be convinced but as for now, as long as stocks like AVNX, NEWP and TXCC are capable of such powerful moves to the downside, I'm staying clear. If I don't get the earthquake, I'll get the after shock. I'd rather play it safe and wait.
