I have to admit that I had a problem with the whole line of questioning.

If someone is in this country for education or whatever reason, would it not make sense that they obey the laws of the land they are in, blah, blah, etc. but yet they would remain an Antarctic queen or whatever the hell until they go back?

While I was in Europe in the early 80's I enjoyed the countries I was in, but I was still an American. Wouldn't that hold true for a foreign national in America on a non permanent basis?

Perhaps one could say that they were not interested in the political opinion of a person that was not an American, but that would be a personal choice. I will listen to anyone's opinion just to challenge my own. Forces me to become more convinced that I am right:)

I would also point this out as gently as I can. To force a person to declare their allegiance, or question their allegiance to something makes me uncomfortable at best. I have read too much on Europe of the 40's and our homeboy prick McCarthy (I'm embarrassed to say) to get anything but a cold shiver from those words.

I am saying this with a smile:)

Looks like it would have been a good day for you to stick to your SSTI thread Snake, altho I can understand how that might be a bit depressing. Not a lot of folks sticking up for your blatant xenophobia today.
