One might be slightly better managed than the other ...

I figured I would get plenty of responses like that. First, I wouldn't use an example of a stock price of a retailer versus a chipmaker for the last three months. it doesn't matter which ones you use, you will get the same chart. It's hardly a comparison of managements.

Second, I think Best Buy is a terribly managed store. I have had a few problems there which are too detailed to go into here.

I am not certain the problem isn't on SNDK's end, but I do think it is less likely given that their quarter deteriorated so quickly. I know that it is a sin for a well-managed retailer to have empty shelves, but from my perspective this fits a Best Buy problem slightly better than a SNDK problem right now.
