Vic-- there are about 85 mil shares short. Downside should be limited to 42,, upside 58. AG will not help the mkts now and a catalyst is needed to move them up or they drift down for 6 - 9 months. However not every issue follows the norm,,, GE should not.... if we see 42 - 43 cover and run as if it gets to that level the turn may come quickly. Should GE decide to bail some underperforming they will go. If there are no buyers at ant price as you suggest they still equate to a tax writeoff and will not be held to drain other areas. I was not all that excited about the purchase price of HON. It should have come cheaper but Jack was not on top of HOn and jumped in quick and deep,,, only time will tell if he is correct and he will not be there for the end result. Even if it is a mistake to a degree--------- it will be rectified with little effect on share price or EPS for anything but a very short period...
