I'd be curious though to see what other distributions fall under the Pareto law, like the distribution across various economies of people who have world class athletic ability relative to their peers or something similar. I guess I'm not sure that they have discovered something significant. To me, economics is not a science, but the process of individuals and organizations of individuals trying to capture the money of others, while sustaining an environment where this process will not be derailed by its own machinations. The pursuit of wealth is a widely practiced human sport, especially so in this country, no set of equations will account for the emotions of the participants or the outcome of their actions.
