By the way, here is the reference to what I said earlier. I was too busy and could not dig up the reference to my point about all PALM III and later are upgradeable. Here it is from the PALM website:

"Which models can I upgrade?
This upgrade is designed for the Palm III series, Palm V series, and Palm VII handhelds with flash memory (ROM) running Palm OS Software 3.0 or higher. The following models and products can be upgraded:
Palm VII
Palm Vx handheld
Palm V handheld
Palm IIIx handheld
Palm III handheld
TRG Memory Upgrade Cards
Users who have earlier handheld models (Pilot 1000/5000, PalmPilot Personal/Professional, etc.) can upgrade only if you have installed the 2MB upgrade card that uses Palm OS software version 3.0. Without this card you cannot install this upgrade.
Please note that this upgrade is not designed for the following:

Product Reason
Palm IIIe handheld Model does not contain flash ROM.
HandSpring™ Visors Models do not contain flash ROM.
Pager Cards Click for more information.
Symbol® handhelds
Qualcomm pdQ™ smartphone
WorkPad® c3 PC companion
WorkPad® 30X PC companion
WorkPad® 20X PC companion
Franklin-Covey branded Palm handhelds

The Palm IIIc, IIIxe, m100, VIIx, and latest Vx handhelds are already running Palm OS software 3.5 and thus an upgrade is not necessary. "

palm.com

Oh and also, I stand corrected. Palm is actually already charging $19.95 to upgrade the OS to PALM OS3.5. They actually were offering free upgrades to OS3.3.

regards
TOM

WLD:

Getting beat up on I see for your contrary views on Palm's prospects? Stick around and keep posting your views - we need the sobering voices for those times when the expectations, valuation, and outright euphoria get out of hand, as well as input from people like Tom who seems to have done some DD on his Palm investment.

Room for all voices, and we should be able to keep things civil.
