IMO, he will not do a surprise rate cut. The NASDAQ tanked for a year before he acted. Why did he act? The economic data drove him to act, not the NASDAQ. I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time. Also, the market has priced in a 1/2 point cut in March; now there is speculation it will only be 1/4, more downside pressure. One more big item about to start all over again, pre-announcement season will be upon us in March. I agree that we will come out of this eventually, but its too soon for any kind of sustained rally. bodie
