Rich I grew up in Canada and back in the 60's opportunities were limited even for a rock and roll musician. However the following article shows some light as to what happens when granting power to government to decide who should get what and who should have what. Canada in the 60's was the number 2 country. Now 40 years later they have slipped drastically and their standard of living has fallen. They have the type of government you appear to want mises.org;
