HoW bout upgrades: Semiconductor Equipment : JP Morgan upgrades Applied Materials (AMAT), KLA-Tencor (KLAC), Novellus Systems (NVLS), ASM Lithography (ASML), and Varian Semiconductor (VSEA) to LONG-TERM BUY from MARKET PERFORMER. Says AMAT's guidance towards a 30% decline in both revenue and bookings for its April quarter is very likely the worst quarter to quarter sequential decline during this cycle. From this point on, while the sequential growth rate could remain negative for one or two more quarters, the rate of decline should moderate significantly.
