The prescription drug will also pass this yr. with a restructuring of medicare, and possibly SS within GW first term. Most of GW's campaign pledges will have been meet, despite all of those disenfranchised voters Ted is always talking about. The fact that Burton's committee is ( 10 members of 500) looking into crime and corruption in gov. is hardly new as Burton heads the committee on ethics; that is his job. <<We have been through this about a dozen times already, and each time the Congress came up with nothing.<<<<<<< To impeach a sitting popular president is hardly nothing. To pardon one of the fugitives on the FBI's ten most wanted list, the biggest tax evader in this country's history, because partly because of donations stinks. The Dems are already jumping ship. Without the partisian support of the DEms. Bill would have been convicted in the impeachment trial. If Bill had been removed, and Al taken over, the dems would be much better off right now as Al surely would have won the election. To say the Congress came up with nothing is dead wrong. The congress came up with the presidency. <<<<<<<<The Reps have their chance to "unite", and they are screwing up big time. They suck, bad.<<<<<<<<<<< Have you watched the news on TV about the trial? Both Dems and rep. are united on this one. I would be very surprised if there is even one Dem. on the committee who supports the pardon. In a week they will end the hearings, pronounce Bill's actions regrettable and slimy, declare nothing can be done about it, and congratulate themselves. The end result is Bill will lose his title as titular head of the dems. and Hillary will wind up being just another junior senator. Can she come back? Possibly, but it will take more than 4 yrs; plus now she won't have Bill's coattails to ride on.
