"but there is zero chance of them getting their DDR patents to apply to non-memory uses"

Come on Scumbria, you have a much larger portfolio than I do. I imagine you have done much of what they claimed more than once, in non-memory applications. I admit that I haven't reviewed their patents in toto (or even in Spot), but I didn't see anything particularly innovative or non-obvious. Now some of the stuff they talk about for QRSL might be a little more impressive, but I don't know much about highspeed signaling. Even that may be more derivative than innovative.

Some of the patents that are out there seem really stupid. For example, Symbol has one on laser barcode scanners used in a handheld device. Now what is non-obvious about that? Is a trivial idea like that really worth 5% of the retail price of a device that uses that flash of brilliance?
