Applied Materials Earnings Estimates Lowered at Morgan Stanley

New York, Feb. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Applied Materials Inc.'s fiscal 2001 and 2002 earnings estimates were cut by Morgan Stanley Dean Witter analyst Jay Deahna.

In a note to investors, Deahna cut his estimate for the No.1 semiconductor-equipment maker's 2001 earnings to $1.40 a share from $1.50 and 2002 earnings to $1.15 a share from $1.45.

Deahna also lowered his estimate for 2001 revenue to $7.83 billion from $8.7 billion. He cut his estimate for 2002 revenue to $7.43 billion from $8.65 billion.

He maintained his ''outperform'' rating on the stock.
