Bush has announced his choice for the new US Ambassador to Canada:

"President George W. Bush nominated Massachusetts Gov. Paul Cellucci to be ambassador to Canada on Tuesday."

Bad Points:

"In May 1999, Cellucci angered fishermen and environmentalists in Canada during a trade mission to Nova Scotia, when he said he supported drilling for oil and gas on the Canadian side of the Georges Bank fishing grounds. He later retracted the statement"

Good Points:
"U.S. Senator Edward Kennedy spoke with Helms on Tuesday on behalf of Cellucci. Helms did not raise any concerns about the nomination, a Kennedy spokesman said."

I suppose if Kennedy has no problem with him. he cant be that bad. ;)

Scumbria,, RE..You are quite a dreamer.<<<<<

Its hard to know which part of the post you disagree. In any case, if I were you I would post mark my post ala Paul Engle and bring it up 6 months or 3 yrs from now and say "I told you" Right now my side is looking good.

I see the senate hearings have started, and in his introductory speech Sen Leahy said he disagreed with the pardons. If the rest of the dems follow suite, Bill's influence over the party will be history. Secondly, none of the senators or congressmen want reporters digging too deeply into payoffs, as it will jepordize their own; so I predict a quick "Bill's the problem, get him outta here before I get my a** in a sling."; type of hearing followed by congratulary hosannas along with" Bill is the dirty one, and I voted for integrity by voting against Bill." statements.
