Ditto on that. I have learned alot from your (plural)
exchanges on the thread here. Retail sales are clearly
a big part of the SanDisk story. May I go so far to say
that retail sales saved SanDisk's ass in Q4 of 2000. The
insight you both have to the "behind the scenes" activity
at the retail level are invaluable.

SanDisk is a young company. I hope they don't learn their
retail strategy at the School of Hard Knocks. That would be
terrible for all involved. The possibility remains that our
observations are unique and are not representative of the market
place as a whole. I hope this is the case.

If I get a reply from SanDisk regarding this issue I will
post a paraphrased response to the thread. If that are as
mute as they are about the IP licensing strategy it will
be yet another disappointment in a long series.

I stopped by another Office Depot, they were out of stock on everything except 80MB and 48MB cards (2 each). Also stopped at a Staples, better news, they were in stock on everything except one flavor (16MB I think). About 4 each in the others. (BTW, I'm working on a project and that's why I have spent the time visiting these retailers).
