The run in AMAT is unbelievable! Not only did AMAT give a horrible forward outlook, but KLIC gave guidance that was much worse. Remember that KLIC, in the back-end equipment space, is probably the best forward indicator for the chip industry generally. Even KLIC is up -- after saying it basically has zero visibility and doesn't anticipate any significant recovery before the end of 2001.

Who ever would have thought they'd be bidding up to get AMAT today? <GGG>
