"What if dell and CSCO started ... selling calls to make earnings?"

Didn't you know? They've been selling calls to their employees to make earnings for years now! They just call them "stock options".

Or at least they sell them to make cash to buy stuff like inventory and startups and so on to make earnings... and the IRS gratefully provides a kickback for the increased taxes it gets.

LOL.

marginmike, You are more of a prophet than you know. A week or so ago we were discussing cars and you mentioned a wreck. Well, yesterday I got hit by a guy who ran a red light. My Honda did crumple up pretty good. Nobody was hurt, but the car is old and may be not worth fixing, though it still runs and ran super before the accident. I know you were not predicting a crash, but you were somewhat right about the result. Of course, I don't know if any sub-compact would have come out any better in a meeting with a pickup. The good news is, a dozen witnesses saw him run the light and gave their statements to the police. The bad news is, it is a no fault state and my insurance co. seems to be taking a long weekend. <g>

On another note, I was scanning some bombed out S.I. subjects and see you have made the acquaintance of Paul E. on the Intel thread. Isn't he a joy? <VBG>
