It's still Valentine's day right??? <ggg>

I was just sitting here thinking back over the years with my husband. Remembering those first Valentine's day dinners. Getting dressed up, having reservations at the fancy restaurant's. Then a quick reality check hit me as to how time stands still for no one, or no occasion. Now being parents of 4 children, Valentine's Day or not...we still needed to be parents. Dad picked the son up from Basketball practice. I had to take the daughter to dance class. (didn't these kids know it was Valentine's day, and I should have had a hot date with my husband???) He arrived back home after picking up our son, just in time for me to be leaving. They decided to go with the rest of us. Great evening, our family of 6, hung out at the dance studio while Emily had class. Afterwards a big night out for dinner...at Uncle Charlie's Pizza Pub. So much for the nice restaurants of years gone by!! It was family night. We gave each of the kids a special card, ate pizza and talked about their day. Life sure does change. I had been sitting here in the quite of the night reflecting about all that. When I heard my on son still awake. He has a belly ache it seems....(maybe a little too much junk food today???) I went upstairs to get him some medicine. I went into my bedroom, and song emitting from the CD player, as my husband slept was.....George Harrison's....."All Those Years Ago" Ya know it gave me a warm fuzzy feeling. Sure things change, but someday my hub and I will be all alone again on Valentine's day, and then I will look back on nights like tonight and get a warm fuzzy feeling as I think of my children!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Jane

"She probably couldn't sleep last night trying to ascertain your plan."

It was actually me that couldn't sleep. I never know what she is going to spring upon me. She is quite creative - though this time she said she stole an idea from Neeney's husband - and then put her own twist upon it ;-)
