I was reading that if your networth exceeds 500k, the IRS claims tax against your income for 10 years after renouncing US citizenship.

One trip to BC, I happened to be there for canada day. There was a group session for new citizens to pledge there allegiance, I think. At the time, I wondered about dual citizenship.

I keep a smallish supply of loonies and toonies on hand for the occasional visit.
