Raymond, the biotech revolution truly will be remarkable. And will present a whole new set of issues, challenges, and opportunities.

When people don't die of old age, cancer, diabetes, heart attack, or stroke,
-- Where will we house everyone?
-- How will we produce enough food to feed everyone?
-- How will we transport everyone?
-- Who will pay the social security and medicare when there's 1 person working for 3 retired people?
-- What will the quality of life be when people live to 150 years old but their brains and bodies slow down? Will they be content spending the last 30 years of a 150+ year life bedridden?

Are things really going to be better, or will they be worse? --just pondering.

Wow, Ray, I'm humbled by your response. I couldn't even come close to organizing my thoughts that way. <g> I sure hope it doesn't take two years for the market to come back. I believe it will not because of the still needed build out of the net. But I do agree with you. Bio has the same characteristics as the budding PC industry did, and will be a big driver going forward. Will it be the driver? I have no idea.

and the public will soon be abuzz with discussions of how primitive our drug discovery process used to be.... and, wow, we really are gonna cure that cancer...

Good read overall Raymundo. It will be interesting how bioengineering impacts the world food supply in the face of global (say it ain't so) warming.
