Randy,

I agree tech is not dead. Just snoozing is a good explanation<G>

I was trying to catch up on my friend Henry Blodget because I have so much confidence in his work<G> Henry wrote this paragraph in addressing the Amazon cash position on January 31, 2001 in his report about the Amazon numbers released for Q4 2000:

"• Q4 revenue was light, gross margin in-line, and
EPS $0.02 better than our estimate due to lower
R&D, G&A and interest expenses. Cash fine at
$1.1 billion; should bottom at $650mm-plus in Q1."

Blodget wrote this on February 12, 2001 in response to Suria's report about Amazon's cash postion:

"• We estimate that Amazon’s cash balance will
bottom in Q2 or Q3 at more than $400mm
(probably much more).
We believe working
capital will bottom in Q4 in slightly negative
territory (again, this alone does not concern us).

In two weeks the cash position will bottom at a small adjustment of $250 million less and no reason was given for the change in the drop at where it would bottom.

My next post will show what I believe to be total double talk with no substance whatsoever.

Glenn

PS Oh Henry...where is the missing $250 million?
