Gus,

<<McData subsequently developed their own ASIC technology and they now have a full line of director switches and fabric switches.>>

How is their 2-gig director switch coming along? Has it been backward compatible yet? Thanks for all the information.

KJ

Gus, Was hoping you could expand on this thought for us...

I think INRG will sell more directors than QLGC, which in turn, will sell more fabric switches than directors.

Was wondering if you think there are many OEM opportunities for directors? Or that others will get them? In your opinion what % of directors will be sold via OEM/ vs by reselling by professional service outfits.
Also do you have any details of MCDT OEM win at HWP.
Is it for edge or director switches/both?

Will SUNW/Compaq/HDS/Dell/NTAP ever sell branded directors?

INRG cc made a point that even relatively small installs are starting with directors now as a foundation for bigger futures.

If there is a shift toward directors will that cause a shift to high density HBAs like the Qs 2204 they showed at comdex? Or doesn't it follow that way?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
