george, i agree on that the sentiment indicators are showing mixed reading because the market is so counter-balanced between nyse type stocks and nasdaq, it looks like to me that the dow may be rolling over here and it's time for techs to run.

leo's chart hasn't been updated but it shows the trins above 1.1 have been good for countertrend rallies, and we got the jan 2nd one beat so this may be good for an equally good rally.

G.S.C: A good point and very true.

Unlike the NYSE, the NAZ is the traders haven. Signals from this source are embedded with a lot of noise. As an example since Nov there were 12 days when we went over 2.0 on the Trin and swung back immediately. Its great to use the Naz trin for the very short term.

How do you determine a market bottom and false signals with so many overbought/oversold swings.?.
