Sounds like you have it set up to automatically download new defs. You probably chose that option when you installed the program. Your info is the same as mine.

sounds like tc has you up to speed on the virus definitions. i'm happy it was something as simple as your setting for auto update being enabled. some symantec (norton) probs can be tough.

btw, don't forget to run virus scans. having defs current doesn't matter much if you don't run full-system scans. even having auto-protect set only watches files that you use or change. viewing the status page should tell you when the last time was you ran a scan. but come to think of it, you may have that set for autoscan, just like you had the liveupdates set for auto.
