The longer the GOP attack dogs in Congress try to sink their fangs into Clinton, the longer Big Bill remains an icon. If the Repubs were smart, they'd let Big Bill ride off into the Harlem sunset. I couldn't agree more. It's one of the reasons that although I an in strong agreement with many Republican platform issues (especially on economic issues, though not on the tax cut) I have a real problem with the party. (Equally so with the Democrats!) Maybe it's just nostalgia, but I do believe that politics was cleaner and more honorable in the days of Humphrey, Eisenhower, Stevenson, Rusk, JFK (but NOT Teddy!), even for heaven's sake Nixon, than it is today. It's said a country gets the leaders it deserves. Well, that doesn't say much good for our country.
