I know that the NTAP-bull argument was that EMC was starting their NAS revenues from a lower point, so the percentage growth was large because the starting point was small.

Wait, let's make sure we're on the same page. Let's be coolheaded about this because I think it is an important point. The point is not about EMC's NAS-only sales, which skeptics could perhaps say was bloated by hybrids, or started from a small base, yada yada. Rather, the point is about TOTAL CORPORATE SEQUENTIAL REVENUE GROWTH. On that metric, one would expect NTAP to come out growing faster than EMC, since NTAP's revenue base is nearly an order of magnitude smaller. Specifically, here is the comparison Gus made, and I'd appreciate it if you could address this:

Most Recent Quarter

Sales:

EMC - $2.6B*
NTAP- $288M

EMC grew sales 15% from 3Q00 to 4Q00 while NTAP grew sales 10% from 2Q01 to 3Q01 despite the fact that EMC is more than 9x bigger than NTAP!
