Rande,

Do you know when your fibre sam comes out with earning? Are you still bullish on it? If so, might be a good re-entry now that Cien posted such good numbers.

P.B.

WCOM - anyone noticed this baby dropping 4 days in a row down to under 17 now from 22? Ditto FON. Telcos and esp. WCOM and FON have been getting treated with disrespect lately. At 12 PE's what's not to like anymore? VZ remains my personal favorite also at 12 PE. The Orange Telcom IPO hurt the sector in the past few days. They brought it out on a very lousy market day, asked for a lot and got a lousy response. So the market sells off telcos and wireless world-wide. That's the only bad news I can find. Otherwise great values down here. And yes even LU seems to have gone down as far as it's going to go which makes it a stellar recovery candidate esp with good CIEN numbers. Lots of tech deals now but I'm prefering the safer more secure companies which are just as oversold as the fast-movers. Holding my SUNW, LOR and SCNT longer term.

Talked to my brother yesterday about SCNT. He was an exec there until last year. When I told him cash was almost equal to market cap he asserted SCNT was a definite bargain. Said their NYC HQ gave them a higher overhead than most both that they are also better positioned vis a vis blue chip clients. He has no position now but recommends it as an easy double this year for what that's worth.

But of course all of this depends on how the market will do in general. Looking better today and nice to hear Bill Seidman assert that Greenspan will continue to lower rates. Not if but just when.

PS - Just bought WCOM at 16 7/8. Hope that's the bottom.
