I understand.Good point, which of course leads to more questions.

Hypocrisy is one thing to worry about of course -- even though the hypocrite's arguments aren't necessarily bad.

Self-deception, on the other hand, is a very weird business. I had a friend who tried to make a Ph.D. dissertation out of this subject and gave up. When he gave up I was able to talk to him again.
