Yes. He was the founder and CEO of DBMS, which had add on tools for IDMS.. He tried to go public but at that time, the narrow niche and should I say, a bit tougher standards for IPO made it difficult and by then Cullinet was also about to get in to trouble.. So he sold the company, took his money and started Platinum.. Which originally was provider of add on tools for DB2.. He did manage to grow the company.. I think he was lucky to be bought out by CA at fairly good price.. If I remember, it was at about 3X revenue... My last user conference, actually any conference was DB2 User group in NY in 1992, where I did attend bunch of Platinum functions.. Even have a Platinum Technology Windbreaker to prove it..

Personally, I don't think much of the prospects for Divine...There are better plays out there.. Sure, they have all that cash but he must be burning it up pretty fast.. On the other hand, I have not looked at the numbers closely.. This is just FWIW, off the cuff comment..
